12-07-2008 Family Camping in Poole
A first time camp for Bethany, Josh, Ben and Joel was bound to be exciting but perhaps Andrew shouldn't have upset those in charge? After all laying out your inner tent as the skies go black doesn't bode well. Once everything had a thorough soaking he managed to get it all up with the others and managed to it all dry before Caro and Bethany turned up.

In the meantime Josh won the prize for patience by looking after Noah and Ben for the duration as they ran around in unaccustomed space getting more and more excited. No wonder he slept so well in his own tent.
Joel also adapted to camping extremely well, only waking for his early morning feed at 5:20 each morning, perhaps Noah could have learnt something from him by being slightly less vocal (or even possibly quieter) when he woke up ;-)

On Saturday Bethany obviously recovered from her injury on Friday to spend most of her time playing frisbie or ball with the younger cousins or uncles along with Josh. Grandma & Grandpa arrived for lunch to see what chaos was raining. Unfortunately Jackie, Dez, and Caro each made the most of the opportunity to catch up on much needed sleep, whilst the younger generation disappeared to the play park.

Still the barbie would have done the aussies proud.
Sunday - the Andrew & Caro crowd and Richard had to leave us, and after a long afternoon snooze we headed to the beach, where Noah enjoyed getting everything covered in sand including his chips

The final excitement of the break was the sight of Mike in the sub zero swimming pool, trying to encourage Noah to join him!!! The morning sun had obviously gone to his brain. Still once a Gowland always a Gowland

It was lovely to have a family catch up - if slightly exhausting, next time more holiday is required (and less stuff)

Love to all of you, next time we camp it will be with grandchild number 4 !!!
